Privacy Statement for Upper Merri Creek Stakeholder and Community Engagement Plan

Yarra Valley Water, Melbourne Water, Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, Victorian Planning Authority, Hume City Council, the City of Whittlesea and Mitchell Shire Council – the Upper Merri Creek Stakeholder and Community Engagement Plan Partner Organisations (Partner Organisations) (“we”, “us, “our”) – respect the privacy of your personal information.

We collect and handle it in accordance with applicable Privacy laws including the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).

If you sign up as a user on the Upper Merri Creek Stakeholder and Community Engagement Plan online engagement website, you will be asked to enter a user name and email address. Our online engagement for the project is on a site owned and operated by Melbourne Water Corporation (Melbourne Water) (“we”, “us”, “our”) using software licensed from Harvest Digital Planning (Harvest). If you apply to be a member of the Upper Merri Creek Community Panel (Community Panel), you will be asked to provide your name and contact details, demographic information about yourself and information about your interest in participating on the panel. Your application form will be seen by the project team, which comprises a representative of each partner organisation and staff of a specialist engagement contractor to the program. Your application information will be used to manage recruitment of panel members.

If you are selected to participate, you will be asked to provide further personal information as applicable to you. This information and the information you provided when you applied will be used to:

  • manage your participation as a panel member,
  • communicate with you about meeting arrangements, and
  • to create and publish reports on and promotion of the panel’s meetings.
  • Additional information you will be asked to provide when you are selected as a panel member includes:

  • any dietary requirements
  • any accessibility requirements
  • whether you consent (voluntary) to be photographed and videoed at meetings and for photographs and video to be published by Partner Organisations in reports and promotional materials related to and not related to the project.
  • If you attend the Upper Merri Creek Stakeholder and Engagement Plan Symposium, you will be asked to provide your name, position title, organisation and contact details and information about:

  • any dietary requirements
  • any accessibility requirements
  • whether you consent (voluntary) to be photographed and videoed at the symposium and for photographs and video to be published by Melbourne Water and project Partner Organisations in reports and promotional materials related to and not related to the project.
  • For panel members and symposium attendees, your name, other information you have provided about yourself and your opinions may be included in reports, minutes, articles in internal and external communications by Partner Organisations, about the project and in other communications created by Partner Organisations during and after the project.

    Information in panel membership applications, feedback on the online engagement site and documentation created at panel meetings and the symposium will be accessible to project team members and specialist staff of Partner Organisations whose work involves upper Merri Creek.

    Partner organisations or our contractors may use your name and contact details during and after the project for customer research purposes.

    Each partner organisation has a Privacy Policy available on its website and on request.

    You have a right to access your personal information at Partner Organisations and if necessary have it amended.
